About the Position & Its Impact

The Client Advocate Specialist is a non-clinical support role at Milestones, our residential trauma treatment center, working alongside the clinical and administrative teams to care for clients during their stay.

This is one of the most quietly powerful roles on our campus. When a client arrives at Milestones, they are often at one of the hardest moments of their lives. The Client Advocate is who walks them in, helps them settle, holds the rhythm of their day, and makes sure they feel seen and safe. You are the steady presence in the background of their healing — the person who notices, who shows up, who keeps the environment grounded so the deeper therapeutic work can happen. Clients may not always remember every group or every session, but they remember how it felt to be cared for here. That feeling is largely your work.

About the Day-to-Day in This Role

  • Day and Night Shift Available!
  • Provide attentive, hands-on support to clients throughout their stay, from intake through discharge, including orientation, room checks, roll calls, and safety checks
  • Hold the daily program schedule and partner with clinical and operational teams to keep services running consistently
  • Welcome new clients on arrival, complete personal property inspections, and securely manage medications from intake through discharge
  • Support medication self-administration under the direction of the Milestones medical team (training provided within the first 30 days)
  • Provide crisis intervention and basic First Aid when needed, using calm de-escalation skills to keep clients and staff safe
  • Lead occasional group activities and drive clients to off-site activities, staying engaged and supportive throughout
  • Hold healthy boundaries and clear expectations with clients in a way that feels firm but kind
  • Maintain accurate shift reports, logs, incident reports, and client records
  • Monitor the Client Advocate phone line, triage what comes in, and loop in the right people at the right time
  • Keep the campus clean, cared for, and welcoming, including light upkeep and tidying as part of daily flow
  • Walk campus trails (up to about a mile) to check on clients, staff, and visitors
  • Show up as a culture keeper for the team, living out our ANCHOR values in how you treat clients and coworkers

This is a non-sleeping role. We need someone who stays alert and engaged across their full shift, including some evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
