Job Summary:

The Fund for WI Scholars (FFWS) Student Peer Mentor serves as a campus contact person for FFWS grant recipients with emphasis on First Year Grant Recipients and New Transfer Grant Recipients.   

Under the direct supervision of the FFWS Peer Mentor Program Supervisor, the general responsibilities of the FFWS Peer Mentor are:  

  • Have ability and willingness to organize information, materials, and scholar community building activities.
  • Have strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Possess a positive attitude about the college experience
  • Be responsible and reliable
  • Can work an average of 5 hours/week

The FFWS Peer Mentor job requirements are:

  • Junior or Senior standing preferred, Sophomore candidates may be considered
  • Have received the FFWS grant continuously since the first semester at UWSP
  • Prior active involvement in the FFWS Peer Mentor Program preferred
  • Good academic standing with a GPA of 2.0 (2.5 or higher preferred)
