The Role

Under general direction, The Peer Professional is responsible for providing community-based recovery services to PARC Bronx/Queens program and to Community Oriented Rehabilitation and Empowerment Services (CORES) participants. He/she is responsible for conducting outreach, advocacy, and developing sober social and support activities while documenting all provided services in a manner that is compliant with regulatory and funding agents. Additionally, the incumbent delivers services to the participants on-site and in the community. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.

Who You Will Be

• Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) or CRPA-Provisional Certificate.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Computer literacy including familiarity in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR.
• Knowledge or shared lived experience with OUD and/or StUD
• Willingness to travel throughout the required catchment area as needed for applicable programs and able to navigate the public transportation systems to client’s home and within the community.
• Must have ability to work a flexible schedule. This position follows non-standard hours including some Saturday and evening work.
• Knowledge and commitment to recovery-oriented systems of care.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently.
• Excellent time management with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to think logically, prioritize and follow procedures and instructions.
• Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Experience with advocacy, outreach and engagement, self-help, recovery and transitional supports.
