We are looking for a new team member to join us working as a Peer Support/Engagement Specialist in our Crisis Services programs. With the opening of the Crisis Recovery Center in September 2025, the DuPage County Health Department achieved a milestone in building the ideal behavioral health crisis system for our community.This full-time position is on our overnight shift; Saturday to Tuesday from 9:30 pm to 7:30 am. A shift differential of $2.50 per hour applies to this position. This position does require use of an automobile as the incumbent travels with the community. Two years of experience in the behavioral health field, including active participation in the recovery process; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. This position does require a good driving record and a reliable vehicle to use while traveling within the community.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Position requires individual with lived experience and will need to obtain the Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) credential within one year of hire. The CRSS is a credential for those who provide mental health or co-occurring mental illness and substance use recovery support to others. A person with the CRSS credential uses unique insights gained through personal recovery experience.
