Location: Mt. Vernon, NY Hours: M-F 9 am to 5 pm (1 hour unpaid lunch) Rate of Pay: $27.47   💙 About the Role In the face of New York’s opioid crisis, we’re not standing still—and neither should you. We’re looking for a Substance Use Certified Peer Specialist who brings passion, lived experience, and a drive to make a real impact. In this role, you won’t just support recovery—you’ll walk alongside people on their journey, meeting them where they are (literally and figuratively). From community outreach to clinic collaboration, you’ll help individuals connect to care, stay engaged, and build meaningful paths forward. 🚀 What You’ll Do No two days are the same—and that’s exactly how you like it. Get out into the community to engage, support, and empower individuals in need Provide crisis support, harm reduction resources (including naloxone), and education Build relationships and connect people to recovery services and treatment Partner with local organizations and municipalities to follow up on referrals Lead or participate in community workshops and outreach events Escort participants to appointments and be a steady, supportive presence Collaborate with a passionate interdisciplinary team in our OASAS-licensed programs Keep things organized with timely documentation in the EMR 🌱 What You Bring A deep belief in recovery, harm reduction, and whole-person care A passion for social justice, equity, and inclusion Strong communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities Comfort working both in the community and in a clinical setting 🎓 Qualifications NY State Peer Certification (or Provisional Certification) required High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s preferred Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery Strength, resilience, and the ability to connect through shared experience 🏃‍♀️ What the Job Looks Like Day-to-Day You’ll be on the move—traveling to homes, community sites, and clinics Some days are in the field, some at a desk—but always people-centered You’re comfortable navigating different environments and close teamwork You’ll stay active, engaged, and connected throughout your day ✨ Why Join Us?
