SUMMARY
Interview’s clients and determines eligibility for program benefits according to categorical, residence, and income criteria. Enters client information into the computer and prints out results to be filed in client's chart. Educates pregnant women about the benefits of breastfeeding; Assists and instructs new mothers about breastfeeding techniques and the use of pumps; Maintains breastfeeding equipment; Updates logs and inventory of breastfeeding supplies; Issue’s food benefits according to diet prescription, obtains necessary signatures, files duplicate copies in an orderly manner. Schedule’s appointments, answers telephone in a polite professional manner and processes calls efficiently. Alphabetically files and pulls charts for clinics, screens immunization records, obtains 24-hout diet recall, weights and measures participants and plots on growth grids, obtains hematocrit/hemoglobin.
Backs up computer files on a daily basis, runs daily, weekly, and monthly reports, mails out missed appointment reminders, stocks supplies for clinics as required, and attends staff meetings and required trainings.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Requires a High School Diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of one year of clerical experience; two years preferred. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Valid Texas Driver’s License required. IT help desk or similar experience strongly preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Occasionally will encounter contentious clients. May work in clinics with high noise level or extreme temperature fluctuation. Risk of exposure to communicable diseases.
