Description

CommuniCare is seeking a compassionate bilingual (Spanish/English) Recovery Support Specialist with experience supporting individuals with substance use disorders. Preference for experience working with adults involved with DCF. In this role, you will use tools like Motivational Interviewing, SBIRT and the Recovery Monitoring and Support model to assess needs, provide psychoeducation, and connect clients to treatment and community resources. Strong documentation and communication skills, empathy, and familiarity with child welfare systems are essential.

  • Conducts substance use screens using SBIRT assessments with assigned clients in office and community locations.
  • Will conduct toxicology screens with assigned clients, including urinalysis and hair testing.
  • Models successful recovery strategies
  • Helps individuals recognize their capacity for recovery and resilience.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral health field preferred. RSS with less than a Bachelor’s Degree must receive approval by the RMCS model developer.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
  • Volunteer or work experience with adults with serious behavioral health issues.
  • Must be well along in own recovery process.
  • Proven experience working individually and in a group setting.
  • Sensitivity to diverse cultures and language competencies.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must maintain an acceptable driving record and be insurable at a reasonable rate under the Organization’s auto insurance plan.
