We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Family Peer Support Specialist to join our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) team in Machias.
In this rewarding role, you'll use your personal experience, empathy, and advocacy skills to empower families and caregivers, helping them build resilience, access resources, and actively participate in their loved one's recovery journey.
What You'll Do
As a Family Peer Support Specialist, you will:
- Provide compassionate, peer-based emotional support to families and caregivers.
- Share your lived experience to inspire hope and encourage recovery.
- Help families navigate behavioral health systems and community resources.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of families within healthcare and community settings.
- Educate families about recovery, available services, and strategies for self-care and stress management.
- Assist with referrals and connect families to community supports and resources.
- Collaborate with behavioral health professionals, case managers, and treatment teams to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency and funding requirements.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and community outreach activities.

Schedule
This is a non-exempt position, typically working Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Occasional flexibility and additional hours may be needed to meet the needs of the individuals and families we serve.
