Position Summary:

White Bird's HRH is a key element of Lane County's new framework for substance abuse treatment and will locate offices for all SUD-related services under one roof to provide timely, low-barrier access to care. Providing comprehensive, whole-person care in a holistic 'one-stop' facility will significantly reduce barriers for individuals seeking harm reduction and/or substance use disorder (SUD) treatment.

White Bird Clinic is seeking a motivated, skilled individual to support clients at our Harm Reduction Treatment Center (HRTC). HRTC Peers will provide guidance and support to clients while on-site and in the community to reduce barriers for individuals seeking harm reduction and/or substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. They will ensure that interactions between staff and clients are respectful and adhere to White Bird standards. They perform data entry, promote safety and security around the property with clients, and ensure that the facility is maintained within White Bird standards.

Position Responsibilities

Works with the HRTC Site Manager to promote a safe internal and external environment.

Works with a diverse group of stakeholders across the organization to ensure efficient and seamless delivery of services.

Participates in outreach services tailored to the specific needs of the community, focusing on underserved populations.

Maintains a comprehensive understanding of the services offered.

Demonstrates appropriate behavior and boundary setting during client interactions to reinforce the philosophy of care.

Maintains documentation and files for all client encounters.

Completes SBIRT and service plans for all potential motel voucher clients

Tracks and maintains success stories to support the grant reporting team.

Participates in daily/weekly team meetings.

Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Peer Support credentialing is required in the SUD field

At least six (6) months experience working with SUD programs

Experience working with clients who are homeless, have substance use disorders, and/or mental health concerns

De-escalation and crisis-trained

Must have a valid driver's license and driver record that would be eligible for company vehicle insurance

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with people representing diverse backgrounds economically and educationally are critical to success in this role.

Functional knowledge of both HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2

Ability to think and act clearly in high-stress situations

Ability to stand for up to 8 hours at a time.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.


Preferred Qualifications

Registered with Oregon Health Authority for Traditional Health Worker status

Bilingual

Register with MHACBO as a Certified Recovery Mentor within the first week of employment

Willing to obtain dual credentials as a mental health peer

2 years minimum of Non-profit or Human Services field experience

Experience serving diverse or marginalized populations

Experience in reporting data into data systems


Compensation Details:

This is a non-exempt position with a target starting base compensation of $18-20 per hour paid on a bi-weekly basis.


This position requires successful passage of a State mandated background check.
