Inpatient Peer Specialist PT/PRN

• Provides practical advice, suggestions, and strategies of recovery to patients as an empowering helper with the perspective of being a recipient of services in the past.
• Provide one-on-one and group sessions.
• Interact with patients in the general milieu; focusing on current recovery and tools used to be successful.
• Provide hope, support, education, and assist patients in setting recovery goals.
• Provide input, as part of the treatment team, on the patient’s care.
• Document in patient record.
• Provide therapeutic milieu monitoring and safety management.

Must meet eligibility requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Peer Specialist certification, preferred. Certification is required within one (1) year of hire date.
• Peer Specialist on an inpatient psychiatric unit preferred.
• Able to manage stressful situations and display appropriate work demeanor and boundaries.
• Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test.
