HOPE Community Services, Inc. is a leading outpatient treatment provider in south Oklahoma City.  We provide compassionate trauma informed care to individuals whose lives have been impacted by mental health and substance use disorders. We do this by providing compassionate and evidence-based treatment, aimed at improving the quality of life for those we serve.  


We are seeking a dedicated Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) for Military Support Services in our Justice Services Program This role offers a unique opportunity to walk alongside veterans and military-connected individuals in their recovery journey.  Do you have lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery? About the Position 
As a PRSS within the Military Support Services team, you will use your lived experience and recovery expertise to support individuals connected to the military community. You’ll offer personalized peer support, helping clients access essential resources and maintain their recovery. Additionally, this position allows you to foster relationships with local organizations, empower individuals to move forward in their recovery and promote overall well-being. 



About the Program
 

The Military Support Services Program at Hope Community Services is dedicated to supporting military-connected individuals facing behavioral health challenges. Through trauma-informed, culturally responsive care, we help service members, veterans, and their families navigate recovery, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with purpose. The PRSS plays a vital role in this work by providing hope, mentorship, and resource navigation in both individual and group settings.



Requirements  

  • Demonstrated recovery from a mental health or substance use disorder  
  • HS Diploma or GED  
  • Reliable transportation   

  

Skills  

  • Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with clients, employers, and colleagues.  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of individuals.  
  • Empathy and Compassion   
  • Must be efficient in managing multiple tasks, maintaining accurate records, and meeting deadlines.
