Job Summary:
The Peer Supporter will provide support services exclusively within the Peer Center. This role focuses on assisting individuals with mental health and/or substance use recovery through peer-led activities, events, and supportive programming offered at the Peer Center. The Peer Supporter will model recovery, foster connection, and promote empowerment through structured and informal peer support.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating events, groups, and activities at the Peer Center.
- Provide individualized peer support by sharing lived experience and offering encouragement in recovery.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where participants feel safe and supported.
- Support participants in connecting with community resources and opportunities available through the Peer Center.
- Encourage socialization, skill-building, and participation in recovery-oriented activities.
- Advocate for participants’ rights and help reduce stigma associated with behavioral health conditions.
- Offer support to participants in navigating challenges and encourage ongoing engagement in recovery.
- Collaborate with the Peer Center Coordinator and team members to continuously improve programming.
- Attend Peer Center staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Uphold confidentiality standards in all interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned related to Peer Center operations.
Job Duties:
- Facilitate and support Peer Center groups, workshops, and recovery-oriented activities.
- Provide one-on-one peer support to participants as needed.
- Assist in promoting Peer Center events and encouraging member participation.
- Help track attendance and participant engagement for Peer Center activities.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operation of the Peer Center.
- Model appropriate recovery behaviors and maintain professional boundaries.
QualificationsEducation and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.

Certified Peer Recovery Supporter (Adult) issues by the state of Ohio required.
Skills Required:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
