Join Our Mission: Recovery Café Kitchen Associate 


At Community-Minded Enterprises (CME), we believe recovery happens in community. Through our Recovery Café, we create a welcoming, inclusive space grounded in dignity, connection, and hope. We’re looking for a Recovery Café Kitchen Associate who enjoys working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and is passionate about creating a warm, nourishing experience for others.

What You’ll Do

As the Kitchen Associate, you’ll help power the daily operations of the Recovery Café by supporting food service, maintaining a clean and welcoming space, and engaging with members and volunteers.

Food & Kitchen Operations

  • Assist with the pickup and transport of food donations and supplies
  • Prepare and serve meals for lunch, latte hours, and special events
  • Maintain food inventory and ensure proper storage and handling
  • Keep kitchen, barista, and café areas clean, organized, and welcoming

Community Support & Engagement

  • Foster a culture of Radical Hospitality with caring accountability
  • Support and guide members and volunteers in kitchen and café activities
  • Communicate café guidelines and help maintain a safe, respectful environment
  • Serve as a positive presence and advocate for Recovery Café members

Team & Program Support

  • Participate in team meetings and trainings
  • Support café events and occasional evening/weekend needs
  • Assist with trainings for members and volunteers
  • Pitch in wherever needed to support café operations


What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and communities
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Preferred

  • Lived experience with recovery or connection to Recovery Café/Recovery Support Services
  • Experience in food service, hospitality, or kitchen environments
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
  • Certified Peer Counselor or CCAR Recovery Coach certification
